A scan is how you go from eleven thousand tradeable names to a handful worth your attention. It does not tell you what to trade. It narrows the field, and it shows you why each name made the list, so you can disagree with it.

0:20–0:45

Start by choosing what to scan. The four standard universes are here, and you can point it at your own watchlist or a custom list instead. A live scan needs a connected data source. Without one the tab still serves you the overnight results, and it says so rather than pretending they are fresh.

0:45–1:25

Every name gets a score from negative five to positive five, combining trend, momentum and volatility indicators. Positive is a buy lean, negative is a sell lean, and near zero is range-bound, which matters more than it sounds. Next to the score you get the volatility picture: IV rank, and NVRP, which compares the implied volatility you would be selling against what the stock has actually been doing. That pairing is what decides structure later.

1:25–1:50

If you already know the shape of trade you are looking for, the presets sort for it directly. Top five bull put for bullish premium selling, top five bear call for bearish, top five iron condor for names going nowhere with rich volatility. These are filters over the same scores, not a separate opinion.

1:50–2:15

Click any row and you land in Research, on the trade plan for that name. The engine has picked a structure from the signal and the volatility regime, scored the expirations, and drawn the cone. Reading that plan properly gets its own video later in this series.

One habit worth forming now: run the scan, then check the conviction grade before you act on anything it surfaces. Options Scanner is operated by Avenix Solutions LLC. It is not a broker-dealer and not an investment adviser, and it never holds customer funds. Thanks for watching.
