Brokerage Integrations

Options Scanner works by linking your own brokerage account. Your account is opened with and held by your brokerage, never by us: the brokerage provides account custody, order execution, clearing, and your market data entitlements under your direct agreement with it. Linking authorizes the app to read your account data (positions, balances, orders, and market data under your entitlements) and to transmit orders only as you direct in the app. You can unlink at any time, from the app or from your brokerage's own settings.

Supported brokerages

Alpaca. Connect by signing in at Alpaca (an OAuth authorization, no keys to copy) or with your own API keys. Paper and live accounts connect separately, and you can hold both at once. Market data comes through your own Alpaca account: with Alpaca's real time options data plan the app shows real time options quotes and greeks; without it, quotes are delayed and the app labels them as such. Order staging and execution are supported in both paper and live accounts.

Charles Schwab. Connect with your own Schwab developer app keys plus a periodic sign in. Serves real time options chains with greeks computed per quote, and can also serve as your account view for positions and balances.

Tradier. Connect with your own access token, in the sandbox or production environment. Supports order execution, fills, positions, and reconciliation; sandbox is a realistic paper environment.

What a connection never does

No connection gives us your brokerage login password. Sign-in based connections use an authorization your brokerage issues and you can revoke; token and key based connections use credentials you create in your own brokerage account and can delete there. Stored credentials are encrypted, never shown in the browser, and used only to operate the Service for your account. Orders are transmitted only under settings and authorizations you control, and your brokerage's own records remain the authoritative record of your trading.

Notes

The list above is the current set of supported integrations and may change; we may add, remove, suspend, or limit an integration at any time. Inclusion of a brokerage here is not an endorsement of that brokerage by us, is not an endorsement of Options Scanner by the brokerage, and does not make either party responsible for the other's services. All brokerage names and marks belong to their owners.

To connect an account, open SETTINGS then API & Keys in the app.

Educational reference. Options Scanner is a software tool. It is not a broker-dealer, an investment adviser, or a fiduciary, and nothing on this page is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Options involve risk and are not suitable for every investor; read the Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options before trading. Examples use hypothetical numbers for illustration only.
